Academy of Aviation (AOA) respects your privacy and we are committed to protecting your personal data.

This privacy statement explains what information we collect from you, how it is used and how we protect it.

The below privacy statement complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 (“GDPR”) and the relevant national legislation of the EU Member States implementing the GDPR (together the “Regulations”).

Academy of Aviation is considered a data controller under the Regulations.

Personal data

Academy of Aviation collects and uses your certain personal data we have received directly from you.  The personal data that Academy of Aviation processes about you is:

  • your name (first name, last name, maiden name),
  • address/contact details such as telephone number and email address,
  • nationality,
  • gender,
  • date of birth,
  • identity card or passport details,

Academy of Aviation do not collect personal data of persons under 18 years of age.

Processing and purpose of use of your personal data

Academy of Aviation uses gathered personal data to provide training and recruitment services. Hence, collects, uses, administers, records, transfers and stores (“Processes”) personal data in order to efficiently perform the below services agreed, e.g.:

  • providing recruitment and/or related services to or for you and to facilitate the recruitment process;
  • allowing you to apply for jobs with our aviation partners;
  • determine whether candidates meet the relevant skills and requirements to fulfill roles;
  • improving website offerings to you including via the use of cookies;
  • for accounting and payment processing;
  • to answer queries or/and complaints;

Academy of Aviation also processes data to comply with applicable laws, e.g. export regulations, and generally for any other purpose that is necessary or related to the relationship between you and Academy of Aviation.

These are identified as “Purposes”.

Academy of Aviation processes your personal data only in accordance with the Regulations as applicable.

Academy of Aviation reserves the right to update and/or amend this privacy policy from time to time in relation to our legitimate business interests (amendments to the Regulations or updates to the services provided by Academy of Aviation).

Please note that will not consider you for any positions without your prior consent.

Disclosure of your personal data

Academy of Aviation may disclose your personal data to the relevant employers or airline clients and relevant third parties who perform related functions (recruitment) on Academy of Aviation `s behalf.

However, such disclosure will be only to the extent required for the Purposes and in accordance with the Regulations.

In order to comply with legal requirements (e.g. in relation to legal claims, audits, investigations or consultations with competent authorities, social security agencies), Academy of Aviation may disclose/present your personal data to respond to demands or to protect the interests of individuals. The above shall be made in accordance with the Regulations.

Academy of Aviation may disclose your personal data to associated companies, business and joint partners, as well as subcontractors in Ireland. We will only disclose your personal data once it has been ensured that there is an adequate level of data protection and/or when we have signed a personal data processing agreement in accordance with the Regulations.

Protection of personal data, data security

Academy of Aviation understands that your personal data must be protected, and it is our priority to ensure your personal data is stored securely, accessible by authorized persons and transferred in accordance with this Privacy Statement and after the implementation of appropriate technical, security and organizational measures in compliance with the Regulations.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the Regulations. Academy of Aviation do not allow third party service providers to use/process your personal data for their own purposes and only permits to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with Academy of Aviation `s instructions.

However, there are third parties that may unlawfully try to access systems or intercept transmissions or communications containing personal data. Academy of Aviation continuously uses its reasonable efforts in line with industry standards to protect personal data of customers but cannot absolutely guarantee that such unlawful actions will not occur.

Academy of Aviation have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidently lost, used, altered, disclosed in an unauthorized way. Academy of Aviation has created procedures and processes in case of a data breach has been suspected/ has occurred (Data Breach Policy)

Your rights as data subject

As a data subject (your personal data is processed by Academy of Aviation) for the Purposes mentioned above, you have the right to access your personal data, request a copy of and request to update or correct, your personal data that is held by Academy of Aviation.

Please note, there is no fee if you wish to access your personal data.

To the extent that the processing of personal data by Academy of Aviation occurs based on your consent you have the right to withdraw your consent. Such withdrawal will however not restrict Academy of Aviation in continuing to process personal data if the justification therefor does not rely on your consent and is still necessary for any of the mentioned Purposes.  You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by Academy of Aviation, to request that Academy of Aviation restrict the processing of your personal data or request that Academy of Aviation erase your personal data, all on the grounds mentioned in the Regulations.  Academy of Aviation will respond to all requests in accordance with the Regulations.

You have the right to file a complaint with the personal data protection authority if you think the processing of your personal data is not in compliance with Regulations, or if Academy of Aviation does not respond to your requests in timely manner or inappropriate manner, or if your requests are not answered at all.

Academy of Aviation only stores your personal data for the duration necessary and as permitted by the Regulations or/and other laws applicable.

Please note, by submitting your personal data to Academy of Aviation, you agree to the terms of this privacy statement and to its processing in accordance with the Regulations.
