About Ruth Thewlis

34 years’ experience in aviation, management & training. A driving force behind the success of ATRS Ltd. which was established in 1999, Ruth has now launched her own aviation training company specialising in ground operations and cabin crew induction courses.

 

Ruth’s personal qualities and business acumen have been the core of her success. These qualities include, professionalism, honesty, attention to detail and a determination for continuous improvement. She endeavours to maintain and develop excellent relations with students and her clients and strives to provide highly motivated talent to the aviation and airport industry.

 

In 2008, Ruth joined the Dublin Airport Authority’s VIP & Protocol team and subsequently went on to manage the department(s). Her planning and execution through Dublin Airport of high profile delegates attending the OSCE, EU Presidency, G8 Summit and many official state movements including the visits of President and First Lady Obama in 2011 & 2013 led to her receiving the DAA recognition award for her contribution to the success of ‘the President’s visit to Ireland’. Ruth also received recognition from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the White House for her ‘contribution, skill and expertise’ during the President’s Irish visit.

 

In her new role as Proprietor of AOA, Ruth brings with her 24yrs training experience and over 34yrs practical industry based aviation expertise ensuring all students of her academy benefit from her vast knowledge and passion for the exciting world of aviation.
